**Testnet III will be live through the Nexus Layer 1 Mainnet launch and beyond. **This is Nexus’ ETH Sepolia equivalent. Unlike past Nexus testnets, participants in every eligible country have months, not days, to contribute to the Nexus supercomputer and earn rewards. This is the canonical testing environment for Nexus Layer 1, and developers should consider this a baseline to build from in preparation for a Nexus Layer 1 Mainnet deployment.
This page covers Nexus Layer 1 Testnet III, the testing environment for the Nexus Network.

Testnet III Overview

Testnet III has been live since June, and was upgraded on October 14th, 2025.  Previous testnets have focused on security, prover network optimization and orchestration testing. That work has facilitated a robust chain and prover network architecture that can be preserved through and beyond mainnet with this latest upgrade. Going forward, this testnet is focused on infrastructure robustness, longevity, and the integration of innovative new features.

How Testnet III Works

In Testnet III, users earn NEX Testnet III Points by proving via Nexus OS or CLI and then claim to convert them into NEX Testnet III Tokens.

Proving via Nexus OS or CLI

When you start to prove via Nexus OS or CLI, you will earn NEX Testnet III Points.
Your points will carry on accumulating as they did previously. You can track these and the epochs in the Nexus OS leaderboard.
