Restricted Jurisdictions
Last Updated: May 1, 2026
Nexus Foundation does not make the Services available to persons located in, ordinarily resident in, or organized under the laws of the jurisdictions listed on this page. This page is referenced from the Terms of Use (Section 2 — Eligibility, Section 9 — Sanctions compliance) and is part of how the Foundation describes who may use the Services.
Important — this is not the only way you may be a Restricted Person
Being from one of the jurisdictions listed below is one path to being a Restricted Person. Even if you are not from a listed jurisdiction, you also may not use the Services if you are otherwise designated on, or owned or controlled by a person designated on, any sanctions list maintained by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC"), the United Nations Security Council, the European Union or European Economic Area, His Majesty's Treasury of the United Kingdom (as extended to the Cayman Islands by statutory instrument), or any other relevant sanctions authority — including, without limitation, the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List, the Consolidated Sanctions List, or any equivalent prohibited-party list. The full definition of "Restricted Person" is set out in the Terms of Use.

Surface-specific restrictions
In addition to the jurisdictions listed above, the Foundation may apply additional geo-restrictions to specific Foundation-operated surfaces or features (such as particular subdomains under nexus.xyz) for regulatory, operational, or other reasons. Surface-specific restrictions are independent of the list above and may be applied or lifted at the Foundation's discretion. You may not be from a jurisdiction listed above and still find a particular surface unavailable in your jurisdiction.
How this list is maintained
This list is aligned to the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control's published country-level sanctions programs (ofac.treasury.gov/sanctions-programs-and-country-information) and is reviewed against that source and other applicable sanctions lists.
The Foundation reviews and updates this list:
when OFAC, the United Nations Security Council, the European Union, His Majesty's Treasury (as extended to the Cayman Islands by statutory instrument), or any other relevant sanctions authority publishes a change that affects the country-level coverage above; and
on a regular re-validation cadence (at least annually), regardless of whether changes have been published in the interim.
When the list is updated, the "Last Updated" date in the header is updated and an entry is added to the changelog at the bottom of this page.
